Demonstrations were held in Maitighar Mandala in protest of the Supreme Court judges' boycott of the hearing. Demonstrators claimed that the judges who boycotted the hearing had frustrated the judiciary and demanded that the judiciary be established immediately. The demonstrators held placards opposing the judge's hearing. The demonstrators accused the judges of ignoring their responsibilities and legal obligations in order to pursue their personal interests. Despite protesters' demands for an immediate resumption of justice, the Supreme Court has been unable to hear the majority of cases for the past week. Regular cases, other than detainee petitions, have been halted since October 25.
