Youth Association Nepal and ANNISU Taplejung burned the effigies of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and Minister Renu Kumari Yadav at the district headquarters Phungling on Tuesday.
According to Gopal Neupane, district in-charge of the Youth Association, the Youth Association and ANNISU both affiliated to CPN-UML jointly burnt the effigies as a protest against Prime Minister Deuba's delay in announcing the date of local elections and Minister Yadav's incitement to violence.
According to Bibek Bania, Acting District Chairperson of ANNISU, the protest rally started from the CPN-UML office at Birendra Chowk and turned into a protest program burning the effigies.
Speaking at a program organized in Gaur of Rautahat on Wednesday, Minister Yadav had expressed her opposition to the agitation being carried out by the Janamat Party cadres and said that the Gaur massacre would be repeated. Now it is being protested everywhere. Neupane, district in-charge of the Youth Association, warned that the youth association would oppose the government's delay in announcing local elections.
