Dozens including police injured as Nepali Congress and CPN (Unified socialist) cadres clash in Bajura; Police fires sixteen round warning shots

More than a dozen people were injured in a clash between cadres of Nepali Congress and CPN (Unified Socialist) in Budhinanda municipality- 9 of Bajura on May 6. The clash broke when a dispute over animal abuse escalated. Police arrested two cadres of Nepali Congress Keshab Karki and Narendra Sarki, of Budhinanda municipality 7 and 9 respectively on the charge of attacking Pur Bahadur Raut, district secretary of CPN (Unified Socialist) and candidate for ward chairperson of Budhinanda municipality-7 from the party Khadka Bohara with knife during the clash.

Police fired 16 round of warning shots after tension lingered throughout the day on Friday due to clash between Congress and Unified Socialist's cadres. NC cadres also tried to vandalize police station after Unified Socialist's cadres took shelter in there, according to Bajura District Police spokesperson inspector Bindra Bogati. 16 police and 4 cadres from the two political parties sustained injury according to police.
