A police officer has assaulted election officer, temporary police and villagers in Panchpuri-7 Dhanbot on May 11. According to locals, Nepal Police's Sub-inspector Narendra Prashad Bhatta assaulted election officer Niraj Jha, assistant election officer Rajendra Dhamala and other including temporary police and villagers on Wednesday night around 11:00 pm. Dhamala was drunk at the time according to witness.
According to election officer Jha, police and temporary police rescued Bhatta after he beat locals by showing his weapon and brought him to the room where he was sleeping. He then started beating Jha and others in the room.
Acting police chief of Karnali Province Police Office Rajeshnath Bastola stated that, police had started investigation by arresting Bhatta.
