Saptari/September 1 Reshma Kumari Sah, 42, of Chhatapur in Belhi Chapena VDC-7 has filed a FIR against Shatrughan Sah, 35, and his brother Phanilal Sah, 33, of the same place on charge of assaulting her charging her of being a witch. She was physically assaulted on August 27 by the accused saying her spell had made Shatrughan’s 17-year-old daughter Rekha Kumari Sah ill. The villagers said that Reshma was assaulted after Rekha became ill as soon as she arrived at her natal home on August 27 and called Reshma during her fit. Rekha Kumari’s daughter Bimala Kumari said that the villagers tried to settle the case in the village but the accused hired a shaman from August 28 to 30 with the intention of proving her mother as a witch’s. The victim’s husband is working as a teacher in Dailekh while son is studying in Hydarabad. Two of her daughters are married and she is currently living with her other two daughters. Manohar
