Chandrakala Bhandari, a 64-year-old woman was brutally attacked by her daughter-in-law 33-year-old Kalpana Katuwal (Bhandari) of Jhapa municipality-9, on June 15. Police arrested the accused Kalpana after the incident. Due to the assault, the victim sustained a serious injury to her head, face, neck, and other parts of her body, victim received four stitches in her head.
Tulasadevi Bhandari (Karki) daughter of the victim claimed that the victim was found covered in her own blood due to the assault. According to the police, the accused tried to murder the victim by straggling and attacking her with a door lock in her head and other parts of the body. The police further added that due to family dispute, the accused assaulted the victim. The husband of the accused lodged the complaint against Kamala.
