Ward office padlocked in Chhayanath Rara municipality due to political rivalry between local representatives

Karnali, Mugu, Chhayanath Rara, Ward 12

The office of Ward 12 in Chhayanath Rara Municipality in Mugu remains padlocked since the past two weeks due to dispute between local representatives elected from CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Cener). The main cause of the dispute is thought to be the disagreement over the continuation of contract employees of the ward.  Chhayanath Rara Municipality had issued a notice a few days ago informing contract employees not to come to the office.  Ward chairperson of ward 12 Aaituram Rokaya said that he had padlocked the ward office to enforce the  decision of the Municipality office.

CPN (Maoist Center) local representatives on the contrary believe that the word chairperson intends to replace old contract employees of the ward office with those loyal to him. They have padlocked the ward office demanding to allow contract employees to attend the office.
