Bhutanese refugee dies in sharp weapon attack

46-year-old Lal Bahadur Gurung, known as LB Gurung, who was living in the Beldangi Bhutanese refugee camp in Damak of Jhapa, was killed in a sharp weapon attack on September 21 at the river bridge near the border of Jhapa and Ilam. Gurung sustained serious injuries on his legs and arms from sharp weapon attack. Police rescued him and took him to Lifeline Hospital for treatment. He was further referred to B&C Hospital in Birtamod for further treatment. According to police, Gurung had gone to the site to settle a dispute with a group of youths. A group of around a dozen youths attacked Gurung with sharp weapons according to police. Police are further investigating the incident.
