The family members of Ramana Giri, a 24-year-old woman of Khatyad rural municipality-8 in Mugu, lodged a complaint against her husband Prem Lal Giri, a 30-year-old man on the charge of murder and the disappearance of Ramana. The victim's family alleged that the accused and his family members murdered the victim on November 7 and hid her body to hide the evidence of the crime.
The victim's family claimed that the narrative of the in-laws of the victim that she left home on her own seemed hardly believable since she would not leave her 3-months-old daughter. Although the accused claimed that Ramana disappeared on the night of November 7, Ramana's four-year-old son and neighbor stated that Ramana was not seen in the village since three/four days before November 7.
The victim's family alleged that Ramana's husband murdered her three/four days ago and pretended that she disappeared on November 7. Raman's family filed a complaint of against her husband at Sukadhik Police Post demanding to investigate into the incident and establish her whereabout. Police arrested the accused from his home on the basis of the complaint and sent him to Area Police Office Ratapani for further investigation, according to inspector Sudarshan Panthi of DPO Mugu.
