Struggle Committee against microfinance institutions staged a demonstration on February 28, demanding the abolition of microfinance in Rajbiraj of Saptari. The demonstrators alleged that the microfinance institution was established to advance neo-feudalism and they demanded its cancellation. They have demanded that collective loans of microfinance should be waived and free loans should be provided to poor farmers.
