Employees of public school stage sit-in protest in Jumla

The employees of public schools in Jumla staged a sit-in protest in the premises of Education Development and Coordination Unit-Jumla from June 4. The employees include accountants and office assistants working in public schools. They plan to extend the sit-in protest for a week, until June 9, said the chairperson of Nepal School Employee's Council. According to the protestors, they were forced to continue the protest, as government didn't pay any attention in fulfilling their demands. Their demands include, implementing the ministeral level decisions on September 2, 2022 that guaranteed a salary scale of non-gazette II class officer for accountants. Other demands include implementation of Federal Education Act and making the school's non-teaching staffs permanent.
