Jhapa/December 2 Rabindra Thatal, 52, of Sukedangi in Kankai Municipality-2 has killed his wife Phulmaya Thatal, 36, using a sharp weapon on the night of December 1. Rabindra attacked his wife with khukuri at different parts of her body including head, neck following a domestic dispute which took place in a family gathering at around 8.20 pm. The locals had found her dead when children called the neighbors for help. A police team from Area Police Office Surunga arrested Rabindra from the site after neighbors informed the police. Family of the deceased performed her final rites after her post-mortem was conducted at Mechi Zonal Hospital in Bhadrapur on December 2. DSP Sanjay Bahadur Raut of the Area Police Office Birtamod said that a murder charge was filed against Rabindra. He is held at the APO Birtamod. The accused was living with his second wife Phulmaya. They have two children. According to DSP Raut, the accused is also wanted for rape of his daughter.
