Ilam/ December 4 District court of Ilam has ordered to sentence Man Kumar Bhandari, 27, of Lapsibote in Naya Bazar VDC-4 and Shanta Kumari Khatri, 23, of Badikot VDC-7 of Pyuthan for one year for polygamy. The couple has also been fined Rs 5,000 each. The accused were remanded in custody since September 23. A single bench of district court judge Prakash Dhungana issued the verdict on December 4 regarding the case. The first wife of the accused, Mana Maya, 26, had lodged a complaint against them. The victim said that her husband married second wife on September 4 after returning back from foreign employment in Arab.
