Lack of machines affect services in Tanahun hospital

Tanahun, Upachar ka lagi paryapta samagri nahuda upachar ma kathinae. Health services in the Damauli Hospital have been adversely affected due to lack of machines. The Japanese envoy to Nepal had promised to provide medical equipments worth 100 million yen to the hospital last year. Due to lack of medical equipments, the hospital has not been able to provide quality services to the patients, Dr. Bibek Kumar Lal said. He further said that the hospital has been compelled to provide services with old equipments. It has been learnt that the hospital has a new building and doctors in each departments but due to lack of machines for Surgery, electrocardiogram (ECG) and ultrasound among others in the hospital it has not been able to provide quality services to the patients. Dr. Lal said that lack of skilled manpower is another problem in the hospital. People from Tanahun, Lamjung, and Gorkha used to visit the hospital for the treatment. Though the hospital has the capacity of 50 beds, currently it has only 25 beds. The hospital was constructed at the cost of Rs. 40 million.
