An FIR has been lodged against Brahma Dev Mandal, 35, of Debadiha VDC-4 at District Police Office on December 15 on charge of attempting to rape a 30-year-old woman. Inspector Bhagirath Regmi of District Police Office said that the FIR has been lodged based on the interrogation with accused. The accused has been remanded on date from court on December 15. On the same day, the victim underwent a health checkup at Janakpur zonal hospital. The victim's party accused him of attempting to rape her on December 14. They further said that the accused was hit with a slipper by the victim in retaliation however the accused party is denying the allegation. The accused is a regional member of newly elected Youth Association of UML.
