Police have arrested Gobaru Sada, 29, of Shambhunath VDC-1 on charge of trying to feed a woman human excreta accusing her of being a witch. Sada was arrested on December 28 on charge of assaulting Janaki Devi Gupta, 51, of same place. Sada, his wife Anar Mani Sada, 27, Chandra Kamal Narayan Sada, 33, alias Badri, his wife America Devi Sada, 30, are accused of trying to feed the victim human excreta on April 14, 2014. The victim had sent her application through post to the District Police Office on May 6, 2014 after the police refused to register her complaint. She also sent her complaint to the District Administration Office on May 7, 2014. Likewise, the victim registered her petition seeking mandamus at the Appellate Court on May 8, 2014. A joint bench of Judges Sabeer Hussein and Tej Bahadur Rai, on May 12, 2014, ordered the DPO to investigate the incident and register the victim's complaint. SP Dan Singh Bohara said that the complaint was registered as per the court's order on December 3, 2014. He said that search for the other accused is ongoing.
