Khadga Bahadur Rai, 50, of Diktel Municipality-7, who was accused of molesting a 24-year-old woman, has succumbed to the injuries on December 29. Rai was beaten up by local Hom Bahadur Bishwakarma, 37, and Abi Bahadur Bishwakarma, 34, on December 27. Seriously injured Rai died at Khurkot, Sindhuli as he was being taken to Kathmandu for treatment. He was assaulted on charge of sexual harassment of the woman. He was taken to Kathmandu on December 28 after referral from Khotang District Hospital. ASI Manoj Yadav of District Police Office said that Rai was accused of similar conduct with the woman repeatedly in the past and was released after reconciling both sides. Police have arrested both accused involved in Rai’s beating on December 28. Inspector Lalbabu Yadav said that a charge of homicide would be pressed against them.
