Police raided a house at Ramnagar Birta Tol at Sitapur VDC-3 of Mahottari District on Tuesday night and confiscated a firearm and its ammunition. Police found a country-made pistol, three bullets used in the pistol, one musket, four rounds of cartridges and one fake gun from the house of Dhaniklal Mahato, Superintendent of Police Shaurav Rana informed. A police team was deployed to the house following a tip-off that the 17-year-old Mahato was about to take the life of his father Dev Narayan Mahato, assaulting him with a khukuri. The police team that reached the house to save the Mahato senior found the firearms and ammunition during the search. Dhaniklal is absconding after attacking his father and a search has been launched to get hold of him, police said.
