Area Police Office Ihatari’s Inspector Kundan Dev has been accused of assaulting Suresh Moktan, a driver at CIAA Eastern Regional Office, Itahari on February 12. The incident occurred when Moktan requested Inspector Dev to stop verbal abuse against him as Moktan was waiting for his relatives. Moktan said Inspector Dev beat him after he told him off. Moktan was left with a swollen face when Dev punched him. CIAA Eastern Regional Chief Dulluraj Basnet said that an investigation team led by CIAA Biratnagar’s undersecretary Madhav Subedi prepared a report and that the report was sent to the Eastern Regional Police Office, Biratnagar. ERPO chief DIG Madhav Joshi said that Inspector Kundan Dev and ASIs Narhari Dangi and Head Constable Lilanath Karki were called to Biratnagar for investigation.  DIG Joshi said that action would be taken against them after investigation Sekhar Dhakal
