Police on March 3 have arrested three persons for conducting the marriage of a 14-year-old girl. Father of the girl, Karan Rasaili, 19, of Ichok VDC-6 and Karan's father Surya Bahadur Rasaili were arrested while the girl was being married to Karan. According to the police, those carrying out the marriage of the girl were arrested after a member of the district child network reported against the child marriage at the Area Police Office on March 2. Inspector Chandra Bahadur Thapa of the Area Police Office said that legal action would be taken against those the culprits. About 50 persons had left Ichok VDC for the marriage. They had picketed the APO protesting against the arrest.
