The UML leader pressures police to release their cadre in Kaski

UML leaders are pressurizing the Pokhara police to release their Youth Association leaders who had been arrested on the charges of beating on-duty police officers. Bouncers with a Youth Association leader allegedly attacked the police officer, Bhim Bahadur Rana, when Rana went to Ozone Disco responding to a reported Quarrel. After the attack on Bhim Bahadur, Pokhara police arrested 12 people along with Mahendra Bhote, the owner of Ozone Disco, and the Youth Association Nepal Gandaki Zonal Vice-president. A Police source told 'Annapurna daily' that some leaders of the UML had threatened lakeside police that if the police don't release their cadre, then the arresting policeman will face transfer. The threatening UML members are up to Ministry and District level cadres, the source said.

Update 03/09/2015: Police have filed a case against those accused of the police beating this Monday. The case was filed against Mahendra Bhote, the owner of the Ozone disco and Youth Association Gandaki Zonal Vice-President leader. The group of bouncers along with Bhote Had attacked policeman Bhim Bahadur Lama last Friday.
