Students in Khairani, Chitwan have been obstructing traffic since this morning demanding a thorough probe into the sudden death of a secondary level student at a local school. Tensions have been running high since a stir brew between students and police in connection to the sudden death of Gaurav Basnet of Kathar-5, Chitwan. Basnet was found hanging in a room of his school, Nepal Adrasha Shiksha Sadan on March 15, under mysterious circumstances. Meanwhile, police baton-charged protesting students and arrested nine of them while trying to resume traffic along the East-West highway, according to Sal Bahadur Thapa, Superintendent of Police (SP) at the District Police Office, Chitwan. Meanwhile, the centre for the School Leaving Certificate (SLC) examination at the school has been shifted to Khairani Higher Secondary School in the district due to the stir regarding the death of Basnet, according to the District Education Office, Chitwan.
