Chand led Maoist captures land in Kanchanpur

The cadres of the Maoist party led by Netra Bikram Chand captured a land belonging to a sugar mill at Suda-6 of the district. The cadres, signaling the capture, hoisted their party flag on the mill's land. The sugar mill is currently shutdown. Party leader Rajendra Bista said 2.10 bighas of land were seized reasoning the land bought at a low price from the locals was later sold at a high price, thereby making a loss to the locals. The locals had sold the land being assured of the low-cost electricity and road facility for land sale, but it vain, he added, saying mill owner of Indian origin, Chaturbhuj Mohapal, sold the land at a high price and took the hefty money to India.
