"A motorcycle costing Rs 250,000 was gifted him as dowry during the marriage. But he needed more costly and posh one," said Anjum's father Laluminya, adding that 300 persons attending marriage procession from groom's side were given a very grand reception. I spent Rs 1.5 million for daughter's marriage, but in vain." But, the groom's family forced daughter Anjum to consume poison, he wailed. Regional Vice-Chairman of Muslim Council Nepal, Abid Hussein also said the groom might have been irate over dowry issue. The district police have arrested Saddam and initiated investigation.
