Press owner accused of attempted rape arrested in Banke

A press owner of Nepalgunj was arrested under the accusation of attempting to rape a girl. Jyoti Lal Bhandari, the owner of Namaste printers Gharbari Tole, has been arrested by a team from the District Police Office. According to the police officer, Bhandari called for an application for a job in his factory and invited a few candidates for the selection process at 9 o'clock in the morning on Saturday. After the interview was over, the victim reported that Bhandari started to touch her indecently and tried to rape her. She only managed to escape as she fought back. Nepal Independent Workers' Union has also demanded legal action against him for his repeated involvement in sexual abuse of the female employees. Police have taken him into custody for further investigation.
