A clash ensued between the security personnel and cadres of agitating Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha (SLMM) at Mahabir Chok in Biratnagar, Morang on Wednesday. Six protesters and a policeman have been injured in the clash. The situation became tense after the protesters clashed with the security personnel during an indefinite strike called by the SLMM. Police baton-charged the protesters while the latter hurled stones and brickbats at the police. According to DSP at Morang District Police Office, Pramod Kharel, police lobbed six rounds of teargas shells to disperse the agitated mob. Police have detained six protesters. The protesters demonstrated at Mahabir Chok and Roadcess Chok from the early morning.
