One arrested with automatic pistol in Siraha

Update....... 3 held with weapons and explosives in Siraha Three people have been caught red-handed with illegal weapons and explosives from two different areas near the India-Nepal border. Lekhnath Yadav,28, a resident of Itari Parsahi VDC-4 was arrested with illegal weapons from Madre border area on Wednesday night. SP Mahesh Shrestha, chief of the Armed Police Force (APF) Office, Siraha informed that checking at the border areas has been intensified to curb such activities. "Yadav was caught with a pistol wrapped around his back while riding on his Pulsar bike," said the superintendent of police. According to SP Shrestha, the pistol was an Italian-made automatic 9mm firearm, as per the details inscribed on it, and had seven rounds of bullets at the time of recovery. Yadav has been kept at the District Police Office (DPO), Siraha along with his bike for further investigation. Meanwhile, SP Ram Kripal Shah of the DPO said, "Yadav is an alleged criminal who had been charged earlier with the acquisition of weapon in Mirchaiya municipality on June 11, 2013, too." Similarly, Damodar Paswan from Gouripravaha, Dhanusha and Nur Muhammad Ansari, 50, from Dhalkewar were detained on charges of possession of illegal weapons. A pistol with four rounds of bullets along with 500 grams of explosives was recovered from the duo on Tuesday morning. Both of them have been kept at the Area Police Office in Lahan for further investigation. "To avoid any such cases in future, we are checking each person's body properly. We will increase our vigilance," added SP Shah. The Armed Police Force (APF) personnel arrested a youth with a pistol at Madar, the southern bordering area in Siraha district during a regular security check on Wednesday night. The arrested is Lekhnath Prasad Yadav, 28 from Itari Prasahi in Siraha. It is learnt that arrested Yadav was riding a motorbike from Jayanagar in India to Siraha with a 9mm automatic pistol loaded with seven round of bullets shared Mahesh Shrestha, Superintendent of Police at APF Border Security Force Office. Police have seized Yadav's mobile, motorcycle and some cash he was carrying along. Arrested Yadav has been handed over to the Nepal Police for the further investigation, police said. Earlier on Tuesday, police had arrested two persons at Inarawa on Tuesday with a country-made pistol and four bullets for it. RSS
