85 banda enforcers arrested from different parts of country

Nepal Police has, so far, arrested 85 protesters from across the country for their alleged involvement in forcefully enforcing the Sunday’s general strike called by CPN Maoist led by Netra Bikram Chand 'Biplav'. The arrested protesters were taken into custody for mostly resorting to vandalism, apart from forcefully implementing the strike in different places of the country. “They were mostly taken into custody for vandalizing and setting fire into public properties,” said Nepal Police spokesperson Kamal Singh Bam. In total, 29 protesters were nabbed from Kathmandu, three from Lalitpur, 33 from Kaski and remaining from other places, added Bam.
