Cadres of Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha (SLMM) on Thursday held a symbolic ‘buffalo rally’ in Siraha as a satire to the government for its lack of response in spite of the prolonged protests. The rally that commenced on the initiatives of Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha, an alliance of dozens of Madhes-centric parties, from Mahabir Chok in the district circled the city before finally converging into an assembly. The organisers said the protest was organised as government remained apathetic to their demands even though the protest continued for 41 days. Morcha’s leader Sanjiv Yadav said the symbolic rally was organised typifying the top guns of big three political parties as they have been sitting like a buffalo turning a blind eye to the continuous protest in Madhes.
