Kidney racketeer arrested in Kakadvitta

Police in Kakadvitta arrested a kidney racketeer, along with two victims, while they were on their way of entering Nepal from the Kakadvitta checkpoint. Krishna Damai, 42, was arrested by police on Friday following the inquiry made by Maiti Nepal under suspicion for illegal kidney trafficking business. Damai was arrested along with Kalpana Bhandari, 31, and Saili Tamang, 30, who was successfully lured by the offender for illegal kidney trade. “We arrested Damai and took Bhandari and Tamang under their control after the Maiti Nepal inquired them in suspicion,” said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Syamkrishna Adhikari. Tamang admitted that she became ready to sell her one kidney in India for Rs 300,000. She took Bhandari, her friend, as her caretaker. Damai promised Bhandari Rs 50,000.
