A powerful bomb exploded near the Gautam Buddha Airport of Bhairahawa, in the wee hours on Thursday. An unidentified group of people at 2:30 am this morning planted the explosive wrapped in a tire in a bridge over the Dhagra stream, police said. The local area has been gripped in fear after the explosion that was heard over three to four kilometers. The suspects are yet to be identified and the reason behind the explosion is still unknown. Police Chief SP Budhhiraj Gurung, however, assumed it was planted to impose fear among the locals. Soon after the explosion, Nepal Police and Nepali Army reached the incident site. Situations is now under control, police informed. No human casualties have been reported yet.
