Protest continues in Birgunj, demo with domestic weapons

Protestors have held a demonstration wielding domestic weapons in Birgunj on October 12. Locals from various parts of Bara and Parsa arrived at district headquarters in tractors to participate in the demonstration. They chanted slogans of "Jay Madhes, Long Live Madhesi Unity". The protestors wiled domestic weapons spade, sword, among others. The blockade enforced by Sanghiya Madhesi Morcha and Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha at the Birgunj entry point since September 12 is still on. No goods have entered into Nepal due to the sit-in organized by Morcha at the point. Meanwhile, malpractice in the name of protest have been found to have taken place in recent days. Diesel, petrol brought by locals for private use have been destroyed and protestors are found to have taken amount for allowing the vehicles to ply. The Morcha cadres allowed vehicle carrying grains produced by Pro Biotic Industries Pvt. Ltd. to operate after taking amount at Lipani Birta Patelnagar in Birgunj-24.
