2015-10-18

Bagmati, Chitawan, Bharatpur, Ward 10

A group of angry men has vandalized the Narayani community hospital in Bharatpur on Sunday following the death of an elderly patient, who was undergoing treatment for a kidney-related disease in the hospital for the past four days. Relatives of the patient, 86-year-old Chandrakala Sapkota, from Bharatpur sub-metropolitan city resorted to vandalism after she died this afternoon. According to the police, the glass of the hospital's ticket counter and pharmacy have been broken in the incident. Police have taken seven men into custody for being involved in the vandalism. The managing director of the hospital, Pusparaj Dhital, said that the patient had died due to a heart attack, and not due to the negligence of the hospital as the relatives believed.
