Nepalis organize massive demo against Indian blockade in New York

Nepalis living in the USA have staged a massive demonstration outside the United Nations headquarters in New York over Indian blockade against Nepal on Tuesday. Various Indian origin people had also participated in the demonstration organized by Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA). Many sheikh community people of India had thrown their weight behind the demonstration.

The demonstrators had termed the continuing Indian imposed blockade over Nepal is inhumane. In a bid to draw attention to the world community about the blockade and press India to lift it, a team of demonstrators had also submitted a memorandum to UN Secretary-General Ban ki-Moon. Various organizations have expressed solidarity with the protest. NRNA America chapter President Keshav Poudel had read the memorandum. Various Nepalis had poured into the demonstration including singer Ram Krishna Dhakal and Manoj Gajurel, a comedy artist. Singer Dhakal sang the national anthem while Gajurel presented satires against India.
