The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority on Thursday caught a director at the Department of Transport Management while taking bribe from service seekers. A team deployed from the anti-graft body arrested director Nabin Kumar Pokharel from the department at Baneshwor with the bribe money. The CIAA said in a statement that the Nepalgunj customs office had asked a bicycle trader to produce the recommendation from the department to import 36 electric scooters from the Avon company. When bicycle traders approached the Baneshwor-based office, Pokharel had reportedly demanded Rs5,000 in bribe for each of the 36 scooters to get the recommendations. Based on information provided by the service seekers, the CIAA-deployed officials had napped Pokharel. “The CIAA team arrested him while taking Rs180,000 from the service seekers,” CIAA spokesman Krishna Hari Puskar stated. अख्तियार दुरुपयोग अनुसन्धान आयोगको टोलीले यातायात व्यवस्था विभागका एक उपसचिवलाई कार्यालयमा सेवाग्राहीबाट घुस लिँदालिँदै पक्राउ गरेको छ । यातायात व्यवस्था बिभागका प्राबिधिक निर्देशकसमेत रहेका नबिनकुमार पोखरेललाई अख्तियारको टोलीले एक लाख ८० हजार रुपैयाँ घुससहित पक्राउ गरेको हो । उनले एभोन साइकिल्स लिमिटेडको ईलेक्ट्रिक स्कुटर ल्याउन नेपालगन्ज भन्सार कार्यालयका लागि यातायात व्यवस्था विभागबाट सिफारिस बनाउँदा प्रति स्कुटर ५ हजार रुपैयाँका दरले घुस लिएको खुलेकोछ । आयोगको टोलीले घुस लिइरहेको सूचना पाएपछि यातायात व्यवस्था विभागको नयाँबानेश्वरस्थित कार्यालयमा छापा मारेर घुस रकम लिइसकेको सो परिमाणको रकमसहित पोखरेललाई पक्राउ गरेको हो । उनलाई अख्तियारको टंगालस्थित हिरासतमा राखेर अनुसन्धान अघि बढाइएको अख्तियारले जनाएको छ ।
