Police have charged 20-year-old Girish Soren of Bhadrapur Municipality-2 with the rape of a 13-year-old girl on January 10. Parents of the girl had filed a complaint at the District Police Office on January 9 accusing Soren of raping the girl after keeping her at his friend's house for two days. They accused him of taking her away from the home on January 6. Area Police Office Prithvinagar arrested him on January 9 and he is kept at the custody of the DPO Jhapa. SI Subash KC of case department of DPO said that his judicial remand was extended from the district court on January 10. Medical check-up of the victim was conducted at Mechi Zonal Hospital in Bhadrapur on January 9.
