The agitating cadres of the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) have clashed with security personnel at Mahabir Chowk in Biratnagar on Monday morning. The clashes ensued after the police intervened in a protest rally staged by the UMMF cadres along the Koshi Highway, leaving the windowpane of the police van, Na 1 Jha 1228, badly damaged. The UDMF has been taking to the streets protesting the death of the three cadres who died in the police firing recently. Preparation is underway to start a funeral procession from Koshi Zonal Hospital. According to a UDMF source, the procession will pass through the various parts of the city before performing final rights.
