Nepal Press Union (NPU) has condemned the attack on journalist Hiralal Bishwokarma. In a statement issued by the NPU general secretary Ajaya Babu Siwakoti today, NPU also demanded action against the guilty. A group of six unidentified people attacked Bishwokarma, a staffer in Himalaya Times daily, and an NPU central member, in mid-Baneshwor at around 9:30 pm yesterday while returning home from the office. The attackers also looted Bishwokarma’s wallet, cash, and some documents, it has been reported. Bishwokarma has been advised to take rest by doctors looking after his treatment, the family said.
