Two youths involved in the theft of gold and cash from a jewellery shop have been arrested by the police in possession of a pistol. 32-year-old Yadav Adhikari, resident of Angsarang-6 and 30-year-old Udaya Bikram Tamang, alias Daya, of Soyang VDC-1 were arrested with 12 tola (132 gm) of gold and 3 lakh rupees cash. Police had started a search based on information received about missing of 22 tola (242 gm) gold from Kabita Jewellery Trade Center in Biblyatey and Cash Rs. 3,73,000 from Kabita Money Transfer. A team led by Sub-Inspector Manish Thapa had arrested Adhikari from Biblyatey Bazar on Monday evening for investigation based on information received earlier on the same day. Police have identified Adhikari as the prime culprit in the theft. According to DSP Prakash Ranabhat, Tamang was arrested on Wednesday from Britamod, Jhapa based on the statement given by Adhikari.
