Police have arrested a man on the charge of polygamy in Mahottari. The arrested has been identified as 27-year-old Binit Mandal of Sarpallo VDC-1, informed SP Janak Bhattarai of District Police Office Mahottari. Mandal, a married man with children went on to marry 23-year-old Alankat Kumari Mandal - daughter of Harinarayan Mandal - resident of Gonarpura-6 VDC on 6 March 2016. Mandal's first wife Sima Kumaridevi lodged a complaint against Mandal at the police on Sunday after she came to know about the marriage. Mandal was arrested by the police deployed from DPO Mahottari on Sunday night. DPO is further investigating into the incident by charging him under the polygamy act.
