Family of Arjun Aale Magar of Gairathok in Manthali Municipality-7 has been ostracized by the village after he married a local dalit girl Usha Nepali. The family could not even get locals to attend funeral procession of a family member. Magar had married Usha of same place five years ago. The villagers had not allowed his family to stay in the village accusing him of marrying a girl of dalit community though he belonged to a so-called upper caste. His family said that body of his grandmother could not be taken for last rites due to the ostracism by the society. The family is also ostracized by the locals during social works.
