Patan hospital remained tense throughout the day on Saturday after the relatives of a patient who died during the course of treatment staged demonstration at the hospital premises and resorted to vandalism, accusing that the patient had died due to the negligence of the doctors. The patient, 72-year-old Ram Pujari of Lagankhel, was brought to the hospital after sustaining injury on his hand on the day of Holi after falling from the ladder at his house. According to Ram's youngest son, Umesh Pujari, who immediately brought Ram Pujari to Patan hospital, the doctors at Emergency ward had stated after doing X-Ray of Ram's hand, that there was no need to worry. They had then given Ram few painkillers and sleeping tablets. Ram, who fell into deep sleep after taking the medicines never woke up again.
