The Tharuhat/Tharuwan Struggle Committee, that has been demanding a separate Tharuhat Province, has announced protest programs. Organizing a press conference in the capital on Tuesday, the struggle committee has announced the protest programs. According to the protest programs, the struggle committee will hold an a joint meeting of Tharuhat community organizations in all the districts on May 6, hold a gathering in Mahottari, Sarlahi and Rautahat on May 7, in Bara and Parsa on May 8, in Jhapa, Morang and Sunsari on May 9 and in Saptari, Siraha and Udayapur on May 10, in Rupandehi and Kapilvastu on May 11 and in Bardiya on May 12 and in Kailali, Chitwan and Nawalparasi on May 13. Similarly, the struggle committee will organize a torch rally on May 14 and stage general strike on May 15. The struggle committee said it has been compelled to resume its protests after the government ignored its 7-point and 13-point political demands.
