A teenage girl has been found dead in her rented room on Thursday in Bhaktapur as police are investigating whether this is a case of homicide after rape. Eighteen-year-old Anjana Thapa’s body was discovered lying on a locked room on the fourth floor of house owner Ganesh Duwal in Suryavinayak Municipality-6, according to the Bhaktapur Metropolitan Police Circle. Thapa, originally from Nuwakot Ratamata Village Development Committee-2 was a plus-two student at Koteshwor Multiple Campus at Mahadevsthan. She has been staying in rent for her further study. House owner Duwal said, the teenage girl frequently used to come to her room with her boyfriend. As per house owner Duwla, on May 3 (Tuesday) she had come to her room with her boyfriend, and the room was looked from outside for the whole day. “The case doesn’t seem like suicide, we noticed blood clot on her both noses, we are looking for other shreds of evidence,” said SP Kiran Bajracharya of the circle. Police say they have been calling the deceased’s parents. “Since the case is severe, we are seriously investigating it,” said Bajracharya. The dead body has been sent to TU Teaching Hospital, Maharajgung for a post-mortem.
