Police made public the incident of gang-rape on an 18-year-old teenager from Tulsipur. Organizing a press conference today, police revealed that an 18-year-old girl from Kataaha in Tulsipur Municipality-19 was gang-raped by a group of youth on April 27. The incident came into light only after 14 days due to delay in the coming of lab reports, informed DSP Krishna Prasai. Quoting the doctors who were involved in the medical examination of the doctor, police also revealed that the group of youths had also mutilated the girl's private organ after raping. Police investigations revealed that the group of youths entered the girl's home on the night of April 27 after she let her boyfriend enter the home first. They later raped her and mutilated her private organ. She was immediately rescued and taken to Rapti zonal hospital by the police after they were informed about the incident. Police later arrested one youth on the basis of a complaint filed by the victim's mother. The victim's father is abroad in foreign employment. Police are searching for the others involved in the incident.
update-The victim's family filed an FIR against 27-year-old Khum Bahadur Wali a resident of Thuti village in Tulsipur Municipality 13. The victim's family members at a press conference on Thursday accused the police of normalizing the incident. The Victim's father who returned from India has called on human rights activists and journalists to help bring justice to his daughter. The victim said Wali infiltrated her house on the pretext of asking for drinking water and she added that all those involved in the gang rape, including Khum Bahadur Wali, should be identified and actions should be taken according to the law. "I am confident that everyone will help bring these predators to justice," she said. Her family members have raised their voices against the atrocities against her and have asked for help. At the press conference, Bamdev Bhusal of New Shakti Nepal Party, Khem BK of Dalit Association, Churna Sunar, Wadi women leader Mina Nepali Wadi, and others had demanded legal action against the perpetrators of gang rape.
