A woman and her infant son were found murdered in Khara-8 VDC of Rukum. Police suspect that they were murdered around a week ago. Police recovered the body of 30-year-old Gita Oli and her 15-month-old son from their own house. The incident took place while Gita's husband was outside of the country on foreign employment. The bodies were discovered after locals informed the police after they noticed a foul smell coming from the murdered woman's house which was locked from outside. A spokesperson for Rapti Zonal police, Tul Bahadur Karki said that the culprits and the reason behind the mother and son's murder have not yet been established. Inspector Pushpakamal Shrestha of DPO Rukum, said that a sharp weapon was used in the murder. The bodies of the deceased have been sent to the district hospital for post-mortem. Police have arrested 3 persons in connection with the incident. They are further investigating the matter.
