Police have arrested Sagar Devi Shah,25 of Gaushala Municipality-6 on June 6 on the charge of killing her two years old daughter Mantara Shah. In the same incident, Bachha Shah, 26 of the same Municipality has been arrested by the police on the charge of his involvement. District Police Office of Mahottari said that Sagar Devi had murdered her daughter on June 5 and buried her in the bank of Maraha river. According to the police, the accused tried to conceal the incident by spreading rumours about her daughter’s disappearance. She was arrested after villagers found her suspicious on her daughter’s disappearance. The dead body of the victim was exhumed from the bank of the river by the police during an investigation on June 6. Based on the information given by Sagar Devi, Bachha Shah was also arrested by the police for his involvement in murder according to the District Police Office of Mahottari.
