The Rashtriya Janamorcha, led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Chitra Bahadur KC, on Wednesday announced the nationwide protest programs against federalism. According to a press statement issued by the party’s central office today, the protest would begin on Thursday and conclude on August 9. The announced programs include wall painting, corner meetings, and interactions at local, district, and national levels, party General Secretary Janak Raj Sharma informed at a press conference organized today. The party has argued that federalism was introduced in the nation to meet the interests of foreign forces and it was already proved expensive for the nation. The party also commented that citizenship provisions in the new Constitution were also against the national interests. A central committee meeting held last week had decided to launch the protest, according to the statement.
