A demonstration is currently being staged in Naya Baneshwar in Dr. Govinda KC’s support. Over a hundred participants took part in the demonstration that started at 10:30 am today. Despite the incessant rain, the number of people is increasing rapidly. Cardiac specialist Dr. Ramesh Koirala said: “It has been 12 days since Dr. KC’s hunger strike, we are all very worried about his health...yet the government does not seem to be paying attention to his demands.” Writer Shekhar Kharel said, “I am disappointed that Dr. KC’s very legitimate demands are being ignored.” Participants of the demonstration include doctors, students, writers, and public intellectuals. People are wearing black armbands and have Dr. KC’s name pasted on their chests. According to participants, the peaceful demonstrations are going to continue for a little while longer.
