A 72-year-old victim Hira Maya Rokaya of Bajhechyandada-1 has complained of police not taking action against the accused who had tortured her on the charge of being a witch. The victim complained that she had lodged a complaint against Dhan Jung Rai,26 of Bajechyandada-1 and his wife Tara Rai on May 28 on the charge of beating and threatening her on the charge of being witch however police denied of registering the complaint. The victim demanded justice and action against the accused. She sustained a deep injury on her head. She underwent medical treatment at the District Health Office of Khotang. DSP Bidyananda Majhi said that the search for accused is underway. The victim’s party have also drawn the attention of NHRC sub-regional office, Khotang on July 6. Sunita Magar
